Obituary of Cheryl Anne Gerling

Penfield: Cheryl passed away December 1, 2019 after a short illness at age 71. She was predeceased by her husband William Gerling and parents; Dr. Robert Bareis and Hazel Bareis Fitzgerald. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Richard DeMayo; nephews, Jason and Brian (Stephanie) DeMayo; niece, Courtney (Ben) DeMayo Pugno; and her four great-nephews and niece. She is also survived by her stepsister and brother-in-law Kathy and Sal Girgenti.

          Cheryl was born on July 4, 1948 in Irondequoit. She attended The Ohio State University, earning a degree in social work. She was active in the Democratic party.  

          Friends may call 2-4 PM Wednesday, December 4, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where her Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 PM. Private interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 131 W Main St., Webster, NY 14580.
