Obituary of Richard Clarence Eggert
Eggert, Richard C.
Webster: Sunday, June 19, 2016, age 89. Predeceased by his first wife of 42 years, Marilyn Ann Eggert and second wife, Norma Jean Eggert. He leaves his children, Diane (Larry) Hayes, Denise Eggert, Donna (Danny) Barnes and Jeffrey (Lynne) Eggert; 2 grandsons, Sean and Liam Hayes; sister, Joyce Alice Sulli; several nieces and nephews. A WWII Navy veteran, Richard served as a Seaman First Class, Gunner's Mate on the USS Massey DD778 and was an original commissioned crew member and plank owner of the USS Juneau CL119. He was a member of the Tin Can Sailors and a 60 year member of the Boy Scouts of America and had served for many years as scoutmaster of Troop 110 in West Webster. He was a recipient of Scouting's prestigious Silver Beaver Award. For 68 years, Richard was a member of the Fame Masonic Lodge; his church home was Pultneyville Reformed Church.
Friends may call 3-7 PM Wednesday at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Graveside Service 11:00 AM Thursday at West Webster Cemetery, 1015 Maple Dr., Webster (cor. Ridge and Maple Dr.) In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rochester Honor Flight, PO Box 23581, Rochester, NY 14692. A memorial service will be held at a future date at Pultneyville Reform Church.
