Lord God,
you sent your Son into the world
to preach the Good News of salvation
and to pour out his Spirit of grace upon your Church.
Look with kindness on your servant Stanley.
As a Deacon in the Church
he was strengthened by the gift of the Spirit
to preach the Good News,
to minister in your assembly,
and to do the works of charity.
Give him the reward promised
to those who show their love of you
by service to their neighbor.
Through Christ our Lord.
With prayers of sympathy, along with prayers of gratitude for Stan's generous service to the People of God.

I too am indebted to Stan for hiring me at WELM and naming me Ray "Dean". Later Stan invited me to oversee the nursing and patient education TV studio at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira where we both discerned joining the 1st class of permanant deacons of the Rochester Diocese. Bishop Clark ordained the Southern Tier deacons
Stan, George Welch, Bill Dougherty and me on April 17, 1982 along with 19 others from other sections of the Diocese.
.
I loved Stan and feel especially blest to have visited him and Joanie a short time ago at Aaron Manor. He was a beloved mentor, classmate and friend. Rest in Peace Stan. Your infectious laugh and delightful countenance will remain with us always.

In 1967 I had the good fortune to be brought on board at WELM by Stan. I first did weekend news, Saturday’s especially great because Stan did Sat mornings. He was the first to let me broadcast live and I knew one thing...I would never let him down. I was only 17 then, but stayed in radio until I went to law enforcement. By then Stan was a county legislator and just a wonderful man. Debbie and I were so proud that he and Joanne attended our wedding in 1978 and to this day, we use the chip and dip bowls they gave us as a gift. I so loved this man and although we haven’t seen each other for years, he is one of the few people in my life that had such a wonderful impact on me. He was always in my thoughts especially when life throws lemons, I made Lemonade thinking of the lessons from Stan. RIP peace my friend. St. Peter has already welcomed this gentle man and heaven is shining brightly. Love, Bob and Debbie Chapman.
