I worked with Katie in Texas from 2016-2019. We would have lunch or something similar most days and complain about everything about being in the military. She was my go to person to complain to and my best friend while I was in Texas. All she ever spoke about was her hardships with pregnancy and how she just wanted to be a momma. She gave the ultimate sacrifice for Violet and I know Katie will live on through her. Jim and Violet, I will always be here if y'all ever need anything. -Christian Hosier

Dear family of Katie, We taught together at Webster Thomas, and whenever she popped in to visit after she joined the Army she would stop in to my classroom to say hi. I could not be more heartbroken to hear this news. Everyone who knew Katie loved her. She had a great sense of humor, and her students loved her. I'm sure that she would have been the BEST mom to little Violet, it breaks my heart that she didn't have that time. Your entire family will be in my prayers as you grieve the kids of sweet Katie.
