Obituary of Nancy D. Fenity

Webster: Saturday, May 4, 2019, age 92.  Predeceased by her husband, Robert D. Fenity.  She leaves her children, Tim (Beth Flanagan) Fenity, Larry (Mary Pat) Fenity, and Becky Kranhold; grandchildren, Colleen (Eric) Boyce, Robert P. Fenity, Joshua A. and Nicolas J. Kranhold; 2 great-grandchildren, William and Felix Boyce.

Nancy Fenity was born in Peoria, Illinois on March 31, 1927.   She grew up in a very loving family and graduated as the salutatorian of the class of 1944 from Kankakee High School.  She then attended and graduated from the University of Illinois where she met and married Robert D. Fenity in 1948.

After many years as an active stay at home mom, Nancy went back to teaching as a substitute and later returned to college obtaining her MS in Counseling from Brockport.  She utilized this degree to teach at both MCC and Roberts Wesleyan.  Additionally she created and directed Congregations in Ministry with the Elderly where she worked for many years until her retirement in 1993.  This non-profit organization was dedicated to reaching out to underserved portions of our older population connecting them with programs and assistance meeting their varied needs.

Nancy was a longtime member of Webster United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women both locally and regionally.  She travelled widely, often with various church organizations.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Friendly Home for the incredible care she received there.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to all of her family.  She will be truly and lovingly missed.

Friends are invited to her Memorial Service 3:00 PM Sunday, June 9 at the United Methodist Church of Webster, 169 East Main St., Webster.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., or United Methodist Missionary Vacation Home, P.O. Box 997, Chautauqua, NY 14722.
