Obituary of Michael Kariuk
Webster: Friday, March 8, 2019, our beloved Michael passed away at home at the age of 68, and went to his Eternal home. He was the son of Ukrainian immigrants (Andrij and Olga) who after WWII were sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Heron of Tipton, IN, where he was born in 1950. Later the family moved to Rochester, NY, where Michael attended Franklin High School. After high school he entered the Air Force where he was a mechanic. Then while raising a family he became a HVAC mechanic for Local 13, then Local 46. In his retirement he enjoyed lake and ocean fishing, travels out west, riding Harleys with his wife, working on his '46 Ford, and spending time with family. His family could always depend on his knowledge and mechanic ability to troubleshoot almost anything. It can't be expressed how greatly he is already missed.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lana; his children, Katya (Alfredo) Fuentes, Aaron (Christina) Kariuk, Kristina (Brian) Allerton, and Michelle (Marsel) Mriza; grandchildren, Viggo and Neo Fuentes, Isla and Violet Allerton, Miles Mriza. Also survived by his sister, Marie Chas; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019, from 2pm to 3pm at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Avenue, Webster, NY 14580, with memorial service to follow at 3pm. Private interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Pultneyville, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Michael's name to Open Door Mission or Samaritan's Purse.
