Obituary of Nancy McLachlin

Webster: born December 1934, died January 18, 2019, age 84. Nancy grew up and was educated in Florida. In the late 50's she moved to Michigan and began her business career working in corporate America in the manufacturing sector.  She moved to Rochester, New York in the mid-60's where she worked for Ilex Optical, Baush & Lomb and in the late 70's, joined Hardwood House, a manufacturer of wood office furniture. There she was head of purchasing and initiated a human resource division.  She left in the mid-80's when the company closed.

After retirement she did some consulting, spent time reading, gardening and sending letters to the editors. Nancy chose to have a business career instead of family life and was very successful and made an impact on many young people she mentored in her life. She leaves behind several special friends, a good neighbor Alene Mascari, long time friend Bonnie Hunt and her good friends of 50 years Jim and Florence Bayley.

She ended her years at the Maplewood Nursing Home in Webster. Many thanks to the kind and caring treatment she received there, especially the Lakeview nursing team who enjoyed her feisty spirit.
