I cried when I saw this obituary. I’m sorry to hear, John and George, that your Mom is gone — and Andy, that your sweet wife is now gone. But a long good life she definitely had. She actually had a very specific impact on my life. She is the reason that I speak Spanish with an Argentinian accent. I lived in Chile and Costa Rica in my 20s and 40s, respectively, and in both places they thought I was from Argentina because of my accent. It took me a while to realize that I had gotten it from “Mrs Rodriguez” because I often heard her speaking Spanish, saying “Jho” rather than “Yo” and “Ejhos” rather than “Ellos” — it’s the most beautiful accent to me, and one that imprinted on me — lucky enough — when I was very young. I miss all of you. We spent the magical 70s and 80s in PV together. Love, blessings, and gratitude to all of you, and my condolences for the loss of your beloved Mother and Wife.
