Obituary of Blanche Elizabeth "Liz" Wolfe

Penfield: Saturday, September 1, 2018, age 93. Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and beloved cats.  Predeceased by her husband, Gordon. She leaves her children, Gerald (Mary Ann) Szalanski, Sr. of Buffalo, Shirl Berardi (David Williams); grandchildren, Michael Ruiz, Michelle (Chris) Czachorowski, Gerald Szalanski, Jr., Jeanette (Paul) Jackson; great-grandchildren, Chase and Kye Czachorowski; siblings, Dixie Macaluso, Ruby Lee Strobl, Jan Poplin, Norma Jean Trivette, Margaret (Garland) Myers, Bob (Louise) Beck; nieces, nephews, and cousins;  beloved cats, Boisey and Jackson. Special thank you to caregiver, Linda Johnson, from Right at Home in Penfield, and Lifetime Care Hospice.

Liz was married to her husband Gordon for 55 years.  In the late 1960’s, she opened her hairdressing salon “Elizabeth of Rochester” which she operated for many years.  She loved to entertain, play cards and spend time with family and friends.

Friends may call 1-4 PM, Saturday, September 15, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 PM.  Buffet reception to follow at Webster Baptist Church, 59 South Ave., Webster.  Interment at Holland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Verona St. Animal Shelter or Alzheimer’s Association.
