I regret being unable to attend Mr. Eggleston's memorial service, and I wish to extend my sincere condolences to his family, especially to his daughter Jane, my R.L. Thomas High School classmate, and her siblings Tom and Nancy.
Mr. Eggleston was one of my lifelong role models. I will always cherish his friendship and the shining example he set for all of us during a life so well lived.
