Obituary of Jeannette Ruth Fogarty
Webster, NY, formerly of Camillus, NY and Clearwater, FL, passed away, June 21, 2018 at Rochester General Hospital. Born in Rochester, she lived in Camillus for 55 years, spending winters in FL for 28 years. In 2013 she moved to Baywinde in Webster to be closer to family. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Pokino, Skip-Bo and Nickel Nickel as well as helping out in the library.
She was a graduate of Brockport State College and taught in East Rochester for 13 years and in Lakeland and Solvay for 21 years. Jeannette was a member of NY State Teachers Association, United Teachers and Onondaga County Teachers Association. She was also a member of Brockport Alumni, Camillus Women’s Republican Club, Camillus Historical Society and Sun Central Retirees. She was a volunteer at St. Camillus for 27 years and at Maxwell Library in Camillus.
Jeannette was predeceased by her parents, Camiel and Matilda DeSmet, husband, Lawrence and her sister and brother in law, Betty and Bill Tighe. Survived by 4 daughters, Susan Fetcho of Lebanon, TN, Maureen (Joseph) Wing of Ontario, NY, Karen Fogarty (Ray Matos) of Meriden, CT and Kelly (Peter) Wing of Webster, NY; grandchildren, Lisa (Joseph) Sawmiller, Scott Fetcho, TJ (Alissa) Fetcho, Sean Fetcho, Matthew (Danielle) Wing, Kristin (Craig) Ekstrom, Meaghan (Geoff) Phelps and Kevin Wing (fiancé Amanda); great grandchildren, AJ and Alyssa Sawmiller, Dylan and Shayla Fetcho, Ashley (Austin) Grammer, MacKenzie Taylor, Teagan Fetcho, Nicholas and Austin Wing, Jenna and Joel Ekstrom, Tyler and Conor Phelps; niece, Kathy Powell and nephews, Terry (Debbie) and Michael (Debbie) Tighe; and special friend and caregiver, Lori Pulici.
Friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial 10am, Saturday June 30th at Holy Trinity Church 1460 Ridge Rd. Webster. Entombment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt, NY on Monday July 2nd at noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Make A Wish Foundation.
