Obituary of Joyce Ann Binggeli
Penfield: Monday, Jan. 29, 2018. She leaves her loving husband of 62 years, Robert; children, Robert (Dale), Benson (Rachel), Brian (Lynne), Bradley (Valerie), Dr. Betsy (Lyn) Ratcliff, Bridget (Ron) Jerzak; grandchildren, Kelsey and Kayla, Mia, Casey and Jordan, Bonnie and Zachary Binggeli, Dr. Randy (Ben) Province and Sara Ratcliff, Mikhial (Katie) Jerzak, Gabrielle and Dalton Jerzak; nieces and nephews; and her loving companion, Buttercup.
Joyce was born on April 21, 1934, to Benson Stevens and Helen Sager in Cortland, NY. She graduated from Groton High School in 1952, and found her way to Rochester, where she attended the Nursing School at Strong Memorial Hospital, graduating from that program in 1955. Joyce and Robert married on September 9, 1955, in Webster. They lived in Rochester for a few years, then moved to their current home on Fairport Nine Mile Point Road in 1960. Joyce spent her early working years at Fairport Baptist home, before finding a job at The Friendly Home, where she worked for 29 years. She loved her long career as a Registered Nurse, and still, while working at The Friendly Home, Joyce was the Business Manager for her husband’s business, R&J Washer Service, until he retired in 2002. Joyce had a love of sewing, gardening, knitting, and planning and participating in family events. She enjoyed training her dogs for competing in Obedience Competitions. She was a longtime volunteer at the Elk’s Club. Joyce will be remembered for being her grandchildren’s number one fan, supporting them at sporting events, musical recitals, stage productions, and everything in between.
