Obituary of Lois Catherine Polkowski
Webster: Died peacefully at home with her daughter by her side on Saturday, January 30, 2016, age 94. Predeceased by her husband, Henry; sisters, Eleanor Bird, Doris Nortier, Marion Ellis & Grace Latsch. She leaves her daughter, Vicki (Tom Callahan); son, George; 2 grandchildren; sisters, Jane (George) King, Trudy Austin; many nieces & nephews.
Lois worked for Kodak during WWII and later she was employed at Harris Corporation making radios for the military. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Webster.
Lois had a passion for knitting and for many years created sweaters, hats and mittens for children and donated them to the Hope House in Webster and also the Rochester General Hospital. Lois also loved gardening and could always be found tending to her flowers or working in the yard. She was an avid New York Mets and Buffalo Bills fan. She never missed watching a game.
No prior calling. Friends are invited to her Memorial Service 11:00 AM Saturday at United Methodist Church of Webster, 169 E. Main St. Webster. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Lois to Humane Society at Lollypop Farm or American Cancer Society.
