Obituary of William Tebbs Lowe

Rochester: September 9, 2015 at age 86. Beloved husband of Shirley for 63 years; father to Ed (Sue), Jean (Alan Reddig), and Dan; grandfather to Bill (Kristin), Ryan, Connor, Burr and Lindsey Reddig, Emilie (Ryan McDonald), Caitlin Bock, Dillon and Spencer, and two great-granddaughters. A dedicated educator his entire career, Bill taught at Cornell University, the University of Hull in the United Kingdom, and The University of Rochester. Bill was proud to help launch the career of hundreds of teachers. After his official retirement, Bill continued to teach future educators at SUNY Geneseo. Bill served overseas in the Army during the Korean War. An extraordinary and generous man, who loved his family and liked bourbon, dogs, scenic views, travel and politics. He never missed an opportunity to extoll the importance of taking care of each other. His presence and voice will be missed and his grandchildren will work to make him proud for the rest of their lives. There will be no local services in Bill's memory.
