Obituary of Eugene D. Kemp
Webster: Passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015. Gene was born in 1930 in Webster, NY. Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Marion Kemp; brother, Roger Kemp and sister-in-law, Patricia Kemp. Gene is survived by his caring, devoted and loving wife, Mary of nearly 30 years; daughters, Lynn (Bob) Barton, Suzanne (Bob) Keppeler and son, Mark (Laurie) Kemp; granddaughter, Caitlyn (Kyle) Hadcock; grandsons, Mitchell and Austin Keppeler, Matthew and Michael Kemp; two great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Josephine and many loving nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.
A graduate of Canton, NY High School, Class of 1948. His family then relocated to Webster, NY, where Gene attended Rochester Institute of Technology, (RIT).
Gene was associated with Shuron Optical, Inc. In addition, he served as Manager of Buildings/Grounds for the Wayne Central School District. Gene also was aligned with the Webster Central School District, serving as Manager, Buildings/Grounds, prior to his retirement.
While residing in Webster, NY, Gene was actively involved with numerous organizations to include: Member of the Webster Volunteer Fire Department for 65 years, President, Webster Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer, Port Bay Association (Wolcott, NY), LPGA-Pro-Am Gift Distribution and a devoted longtime active parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, Webster. Gene also served with the U.S. Army Reserves.
As a Webster resident, Gene was always lauded for his devotion to his children, community and loving Wife, Mary.
Friends may call 4-7 PM Friday, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM Saturday at Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Rd., Webster. Private family interment at Webster Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, at Gene's request, the Family asks that individuals consider a "restricted" gift to Holy Trinity Church, directed to the church's facilities and ground's maintenance initiative. Also, Memorial Masses, held at Holy Trinity Church given in Gene's name would be appreciated.
