Obituary of Richard R. Berry

Richard R. Berry , age 73, of Webster, NY, passed away on November 10th, 2023.

Richard was a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was born to Robert and Lorelle Berry on March 24th, 1950 and grew up in West Hartford, CT, where he cultivated a deep appreciation for family values and the importance of nurturing strong bonds.

Throughout his life, Richard dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his family. He was a loving husband, a caring father, and an extraordinary grandfather that recognized his family was much more extensive than just those related by blood or marriage. His unwavering support and guidance were the cornerstones of their lives, and his presence brought immense joy, warmth, and humor into all of their hearts.

Richard leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his wife Mary, sons Matthew (Melanie), and Christopher as well as his granddaughter, Izabela. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Lorelle Berry.

Beyond his role as family man, Richard was known for is unwavering work ethic and dedication to his profession. He excelled in his 34-year career with the Social Security Administration and retired as District Manager in 2008, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with. 

In his free time, Richard enjoyed pursuing his passions and hobbies. Whether it be spending time at the family cottage on the lake, spending time with his granddaughter, mastering the latest crossword puzzle, or sipping on a perfectly poured glass of crown royal, he always found joy in the simple pleasures in life. His zest for life was contagious, and he instilled in us the importance of cherishing every moment.

Richard’s family will host a Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, November 17th, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Hospice or Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital in Richard’s name.

Richard will remain in our hearts as a beacon of love, strength, and dedication. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
