Obituary of Ruth Newell Holroyd

Webster:  August 20, 2023 at the age of 102.  Predeceased by her husband, Edmond Holroyd, Jr., who died in 1983.  She leaves her sons, Edmond “Ed” III (Gail), Forrest (Nancy), Graham (Karen) and Hilding (Judi) Holroyd;  13 grandchildren;  15 great-grandchildren;  brother-in-law, Richard Holroyd;  many nieces and nephews.

Born in Washington, DC and raised in Brighton, Ruth had lived in Jamestown, Limestone, Spencerport, Pittsford and Webster.  She attended Wooster College in Ohio, taught Weaving and Bobbin Lace for many years, and had written 3 books on weaving.  A world traveler, Ruth had taught in both England and South Africa.  She had done extensive genealogy work which included a trip to England for ancestral research.

Services are at the convenience of the family.  Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Jamestown, NY.
