Webster: Blair R. Hendershot passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, with his family by his side. He returned to his Heavenly Father and was joyfully reunited with his parents, siblings, and other loved ones who preceded him in death.
Blair was born on August 14, 1933, in Taylor, PA. He was predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Ella Hendershot; his brothers, Claude and Wayne; and his sisters, Geraldine Manley and Doris Jones.
A faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Blair lived his life grounded in faith and service. Blair and Joan were married in the Temple, and later in life they served a year-long mission in Salt Lake City in the Genealogy Library, a calling that reflected his deep love of family history.
He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of 67 years, Joan Hendershot; his children, Scott (Sarah), Joel (Michelle), Aaron (Lisa), and Ellyn St. Peter; his grandchildren, Ariel (Chaplin), Gray (Elle), Shane (Caileigh), Braeden, Erik, Nicolette, Alex, Nathan, Bentley (Audrey), Cade, and Averi; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
An Air Force veteran, Blair proudly served his country and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant (Technician) as a radio repairman. He had a lifelong passion for art, woodworking, gardening, history, genealogy, and writing, pursuits that reflected both his creativity and curiosity.
Blair worked at Xerox as an engineer for 26 years and raised his family in Webster. He maintained a deep affinity for his original hometown of Taylor, PA, and for the family “country” home in Lovelton, PA—places that always held a special place in his heart.
