Age 84, passed away on January 18, 2026. She was born on July 21, 1941 in Rochester, New York to Mildred Anna Kraft and Harold Fred Bundschuh.

Mildred was the youngest of eight children, and her childhood nickname, “Moody,” stayed with her throughout life. She embraced it fully, with the spirited independence that everyone knew and loved. She knew what she wanted, valued her privacy, and lived life on her own terms.

At the age of 19, Mildred enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving her country from 1960–1964. After completing her military service, she pursued her lifelong calling to care for others. She earned her RN from the Isabella Graham School of Practical Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at Rochester General Hospital. She later retired from Genesee Hospital, where she served on both the IV team and in patient care. Nursing was more than a job to Mildred — it was her passion, and her patients benefited from her steady hands, sharp mind, and compassionate heart.

After retirement, Mildred loved spending time outdoors. Beaches, sunshine, and the peacefulness of the sand were her favorites. She also devoted several years as a volunteer at the Sodus Bay Lighthouse, combining her love of history, community, and the shoreline.

Mildred was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Warren, June, Betty, Jack, and Mary. She is survived by her siblings Bill and Arlene Figler, sister-in-law Doris, numerous nieces and nephews, and her special friend and caregiver, Kristi Passalacqua.

She will be remembered for her independence, her quiet strength, her love of nature, and the unwavering commitment she showed to her patients, her family, and her country.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at White Haven Memorial Park inside the mausoleum. Those attending will meet at the entrance of the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
