Josephine L. “Josie” (Zambito) Berardini, of Webster, NY, passed away peacefully at age 89, on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

She is survived by Richard Berardini, her loving husband of 67 years, her son, Daniel (Sheryle) Berardini, her daughter, Susan Berardini; grandchildren, David and Aubrey Berardini; step-granddaughters, Korrina and Nikole Anson and step-great-granddaughters, Lily Clark and Lydia Curnow; sisters-in-law, Betty Daly, Diana Martino and Suzanne Berardini;  many nieces and nephews.

Josephine was born January 14, 1936, in Batavia, NY. She was raised in LeRoy, NY and graduated from LeRoy High School. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Pauline (Miserentino) Zambito and her sisters, Frances (Zambito) Shaughnessy and Rose Mary (Zambito) Grasso. She was fiercely proud of her Sicilian heritage and maintained many of the family traditions. She was affectionately known by her family as “Pina”. Josephine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She played piano and loved sports in her youth, and remained an avid tennis player as an adult. She was passionate about travel, enjoying many opportunities to see the world with her husband. She read constantly, especially about World War II, and instilled a love of reading in her children. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and doing cross-word puzzles. She spent many hours in her yard, sitting in the sun, harvesting her mint and garlic, and feeding the wild rabbit and deer. Josephine will be dearly missed by her family and friends. 

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave, Webster, NY. All are welcome to join the family between 1:00 and 4:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1355 Hatch Rd, Webster, NY.

Final interment will be at a later date, at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia, NY
