Jane F. Kaler Obituary

Webster:  Passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025 at the age of 93, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.


 


Predeceased by husband Donald; an infant son; parents, George and Ruth [Whiting] Frank; brothers, Ronald, George, John “Jack” and William “Bill” Frank.  Survived by sons, Robert (Robin) Kaler and Scott (Lisa) Kaler; grandchildren, Teresa (Allen) Heidrick, Amanda (Dan) McCoy and Samantha Kaler (fiancé Cody Adams); great-grandchildren, Bryce, Caleb and Elias McCoy; sisters Elizabeth Frank and Loretta Berthold; brother, Robert Frank.


 


Jane attended Webster Schools, graduating in 1950.  She married the love of her life, Donald Kaler in May of 1952, to whom she was married for 69 years until his death in 2021.  Jane worked at the Eastman Kodak company through most of the 1950’s until giving birth to her first son, Robert, in 1958.  Jane was a homemaker for the next 20 years after which she returned to the workforce, working odd jobs including at Kujawa’s farm stand, the Barrett Law office, and finally the United Way of Rochester.


 


In their later years, Jane and Don enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Madeira Beach, Florida where they, along with close friends Pat and Howard Quick, organized “Webster Day” each year.


 


The family would like to thank the staff of the memory care unit at The Legacy at Cranberry Landing for the compassionate care provided to our Mom for several years, and more recently the staff of the 100 wing at Aaron Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the comfort they provided during Mom’s final days.


 


Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Thursday, July 17 at St. Rita Church, 1008 Maple Dr., Webster.  Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Willard H. Scott Funeral Home.
