Penfield/Webster:  Wednesday,July 2, 2025.  Gioconda was born September 30, 1928 in Detroit, MI to Raffaele and Vincenzina Mautone. Tragically, Gioconda’s mother passed away shortly after Gioconda’s birth. Gioconda and her brother Dominic spent their formative early childhood years in Caprioli, Italy under the care of their maternal grandmother. Gioconda returned with her brother and maternal grandmother to Amsterdam, NY in 1937. She graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in 1947 and went on to Amsterdam Business School where she graduated with training in machine shorthand and accounting. Gioconda secured a position at GE in Schenectady, NY and worked there, last as an executive assistant. She met her husband, Gualtiero “Walter” Faustoferri, and they married in 1956.  Gioconda continued to work at GE until the birth of their daughter, Roberta. Their family became complete with the birth of their son Mark shortly after moving to Rochester, NY.

Gioconda was predeceased by her husband, Gualtiero, and brother, Dominic. She is survived by her devoted son and daughter; brother, Vincenzo (Diane Hall) Mautone; nieces, Karrie Ehardt, Olivia and Aimee Mautone; and nephews, David and Andrew Mautone.  She was a surrogate "Mom" and "Nonna" to many and shared meals, recipes, advice, and laughter at the Faustoferri household.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Calling hours will be 6-8PM Friday, 7/11 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 7/12 at 12:00 noon at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd., Penfield. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
