Theresa J. Fornaro, lovingly known as Bunny, passed away surrounded by love at her home in Webster, NY, on June 14, 2025.  Born during 1941 in Syracuse, NY, to Alfreda and Anthony Cizenski, Bunny was the beloved sister of Richard Cizenski and Shirley Galasco.  She was a devoted wife to Cosmo, a loving mother to Tammy Merriman (Kevin), Victoria DeYoung (Dennis), and Tara Breen (Dustin), and a proud “grandmere” to four adoring grandchildren. 

          Theresa spent her childhood with family and church.  She was nicknamed Bunny by her father.  Through her life, she enjoyed games, sports, music and was especially good at dancing.  Her kindness and beauty earned her a Rose Princess Crown in Syracuse.  She attended Onondaga Valley Academy, where she was a head cheerleader, and went on to study education at Oswego State University. 

          Bunny met her husband, Cosmo, on a double date where she “accidentally” left her sweater in the car.  They were married in February of 1965 and celebrated their 60th anniversary this year.  The two remained very close throughout the years.  She had loved his accent, and many acquaintances (especially those in Wegmans), will know her as “Bonnie.”   

          Her love of children inspired her to become an elementary teacher and mother, treasuring her three girls above all.  After almost 30 years at Salem Hyde Elementary School in Syracuse, “Terry” retired and eventually joined her siblings in Nevada.  She later returned to Upstate New York and was happy to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. 

          Bunny loved deeply.  She cared for Cosmo with fierce dedication, would sacrifice all for her children and grandchildren, and comforted all who knew her.  She will be missed dearly and remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and generous spirit.  A Celebration of Life in Syracuse, NY, may be planned at a later date.  In honor of Bunny’s memory, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
