Obituary of John Cama
WEBSTER: John Cama passed away on March 25, 2025 at the age of 93. He is predeceased by his beloved wives, Barbara (1985), Mildred (2022), brother-in-law, William Clementi, and step-grandson, Benjamin Goodman. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (John) Vandemortel, David (Wendy) Cama and Nancy (Carl) Ast; his sister, Mary Clementi; brother, Raymond (Jackie) Cama, grandchildren, Janelle (Michael) Furlong, Jeffrey (Madison) Cama, Ryan (Julia) Ast, Lindsay Ast, and Aaron (Kayla) Ast; and great-grandchildren Avery, Jack, Gavin, Cole, Lincoln and Finn. Also survived by Millie’s daughters, Kathleen (John) Winghart, Carolann (Daniel) Scorza, Pamela (Jeffrey) Goodman, step-grandchildren, Lisa Winghart (Burke), Christa (Jamie) Hall, Spencer (Lauren) Scorza, Laurelle (Cody) Burrows, Carson and Natasha Goodman; step-great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Beckett, Remington, John, Paul, Noah, Adeline, and Owen. He also leaves behind many beloved extended family members and dear friends.
John was a 1950 graduate of Aquinas Institute, and after taking classes at RIT and U of R completed a certificate program in the engineering field. Once discharged from the U.S. Army he began his career at Eastman Kodak Company as a mechanical designer.
For 32 years John and Barbara made their home in the city of Rochester. Later John and Millie lived in the Webster/Penfield area for 22 years in addition to enjoying a winter home in Sarasota, FL.
Cooking and baking were some of his favorite activities, as was traveling, playing bocce with a league of friends, and enjoying euchre and Wii bowling with the friends he had made at The Legacy at Erie Station.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 14th at 12:00pm at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Ave., Rochester. Family and friends are welcome to come, and share any stories or memories of John. Condolences and memories may also be shared at https://willardhscott.com.
