Obituary of Cynthia Nyquist Pera

Devoted and beloved mother, Cindy went home to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the age of 59.

Cindy was an unfettered soul, who gave with her whole heart and  worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was correct and every need was met.  No one ever left her house hungry, unforgiven, or unloved.  She was always the bright spot in anyone’s day.  Cindy was born in Rochester, and graduated from Webster Schroeder High School in 1983 with many lifelong close friends.  Cindy built her life around being a mother, and raising two wonderful sons.  In addition,  Cindy was also employed at Rochester General Hospital in physician recruitment, and at Fresenius Kidney Care dialysis center in Brighton.  She was a magician in the kitchen, able to concoct incredible meals from whatever was available at the time.  Her insight, wit, thoughtfulness and design skills were a marvel to all around her.   Through her unwavering faith in God, Cindy navigated her treatment for cancer with grace, dignity, valor, and humor.  She never uttered an unkind word.

Cindy is predeceased by her mother, Carol Nyquist.  She is survived by her father, Donald Nyquist; sons, Michael (Brandy) and Alex; brother, Daniel Nyquist (Debbie); sister, Karen Sheen (John); close friend and partner, Mike Kukfa; former husband, Robert Pera; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins, and her cat, Milo.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Avenue, Webster on January 25, 2025 from 9 AM to 11AM.  A memorial Service will follow visitation.  Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Maria McGreevy and her staff at the Wilmot Cancer Center for the compassionate care they provided.
