Obituary of Eleanor (Shelly) Scott

Eleanor (Shelly) Scott passed away on January 3rd, 2025.

Predeceased by parents, Edgar and Mabel Shelly; stepmother, Esther Nay Shelly; brother, D. Wayne Shelly; stepbrothers, Paul and Bob Nay; son-in-law, Michael Fumai; brother-in-law, Al Jorgensen; nephews, Eric Shelly, Mark Jorgensen; and her beloved husband of 34 years, E. Robert Scott. She is survived by her son, Gregory Robert Scott (Carol); daughter, Lisa Ann Fumai; 5 grandchildren, Lindsay Werner (Brian), Derek Scott (Brianna), Scott Fumai (Joelle), Michael Fumai, Carly Fumai King (Khalil); and 7 great grandchildren, Jack and Caleb Werner, Carter, Chase, and Chloe Fumai, Bennett Scott, Baby Scott and Jaxson King; brothers, Edgar Shelly Jr. (Nelda) and Richard Shelly (Margaret); sister-in-law, Carole Scott Jorgensen; nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was born and raised in Bethlehem, PA., graduated from Liberty High School in 1950 and St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1953. She was a Psychiatric nurse and later nurse manager in Monroe County and worked in the adult Psych unit at Genesee Hospital. She finished her nursing career in Hospice at Webster Comfort Care at age 84.

She traveled to 28 countries, did 6 mission trips to Kenya, taught conversational English in Poland and Greece. Eleanor volunteered as a nurse for the Young Life camp in Saranac, NY along with the Youth Camp at the Hough O’Brien Youth Leadership Conference, and was an 11 year volunteer at One World Goods.

Eleanor was a 50+ year member of the Webster Presbyterian Church serving in multiple capacities as an Elder, Deacon, Trustee, youth fellowship, choir member, mission committee, King Circle, and the Presbyterian home.

She loved sailing on Lake Ontario on their boat Agape with family and friends.

Friends and family are invited to her Memorial Service 1:00 PM Saturday, April 26 at Webster Presbyterian Church, 550 Webster Rd., Webster.
