Obituary of Phyllis Cileski Meier
March 13, 1930 – November 28th, 2024
Passed away peacefully at St. Ann’s Community at Cherry Ridge, Webster, NY.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents William and Jennie Cileski, Rochester, NY. She graduated from Monroe High School. She married Richard R. Meier on August 20, 1949. They celebrated 72 devoted years before Richard passed away in 2021. Both lived to be 94 years old.
Phyllis worked at Rochester Telephone for several years. She then was a stay-at-home mother, raising three children in a beautiful home in Webster, that she and Richard built in 1961. She bowled on the Xerox women’s league and was an active member of the Webster United Methodist Church women’s circle groups. They enjoyed family camping trips. Later, Richard and Phyllis traveled on cruises and trips to Alaska, the Panama Canal, Hawaii, the Caribbean, California and Florida where they eventually bought a condo in Ft. Myers that the entire family enjoyed. They also were avid boaters on the Finger Lakes. And grandma Phyllis was known for always packing an abundance of snacks for the grandchildren at any picnic, sporting event or family gathering.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Marsha (Paul) Osborne, Rick (Angela) Meier, and Janine (William Creary) Meier; grandchildren, Eric (fiancé Paige Olson) Osborne, Emily Osborne, Patrick (Rachel) Meier, Nicole (Ben) Knox, Richard R. Meier II, Nicolas (Christa) Sarkis, Cody Sarkis, Jay (fiancé Ali Greenwood) Sarkis; great grandchildren, Tylere (fiancé Tatiana Vazquez) Polatas, Greyson Osborne, Spencer Knox, Mira Knox, Calvin Meier, Tommy Sarkis; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Ryon Osborne.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, January 11th from 10 - 11 AM at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, followed with an 11:00 AM memorial service. Burial services immediately follow at the Webster Union Cemetery.
