Obituary of Jeannette R. DeVos

Webster:  Sunday, December 22, 2024.  Died peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 89.  Predeceased by her parents, Walter and Doris Ritz;  brother, Dennis Ritz.  She leaves her loving husband of 66 years, Robert J. DeVos;  children, Robert Jr. (Jennifer) and James (Kelly) DeVos, Laura (Stephen) Oliver;  grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Chandler) Ditch, Jake DeVos, Anthony (Emily) Herbst, Ashley (Mike) Nary, Jay and Alison DeVos, Andrew, Timothy and Lindsey Oliver;  several great-grandchildren.

Jan worked at Bausch & Lomb when she first moved to Rochester from Reading, PA.  After raising her family, Jan and her mother started the first mother/daughter Real Estate Company in Monroe County, Ritz Realty, in 1978.

In addition to Real Estate, Jan loved her cottage on Fair Haven Bay and spending time with her family.

Friends may call 4:00-6:30 PM Friday, December 27 at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where her Memorial Service will follow at 6:30.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance, PO Box 220, Penfield, NY 14526, or Fair Haven Ambulance, PO Box 614, Fair Haven, NY 13064.
