You had probably walked down the cards section at Wegmans to look for that special card for your love before entering into the heavenly embrace of our Lord. No more tears; no more separations. No more earthly pains. Rest, Refresh, Renew n Rejoice!

John was as good as they come. He was a family man, a teacher, a coach, a counselor, and so much more. But above all, he was a man of God and lived his life each and every day as evidence of that. He had a true passion for people and it didn’t matter who you were, where you came from, what your story was, etc. as John always found a way to make people feel welcomed, accepted and loved. I owe him a great debt of gratitude for having such a positive impact on my life during my tenure at Webster Christian School. As sad and heartbreaking as it is to lose such an amazing man like John, I know that I’ll see him again one day soon and put his wrestling skills to the test as I did each day before class. Until we meet again…

John was a good friend and colleague in the work of the Lord. We had many great conversations over a good Italian lunch or dinner, with a never ending conversation about God, life, ministry with much laughter. I will greatly miss him.

When I heard the news of John's passing, I was very saddened for the Iamaio family, but also very joyful for John's deliverance into Jesus' arms. Anyone who knew John can imagine him giving a short chuckling laugh and peaceful serene demeanor as he was spiritually ushered into the Lord's presence. What a wonderful life as a champion of the Lord; he will be greatly missed.

From the first day we met in the Fall of '66 as students of PBC we were kindred spirits. Our fellowship since then continued to the weekend he informed me of his illness. His love for His Savior was never doubted. His affection for Betty was admired. His concern for his children and grandchildren never wavered. I'm certain there were many who were impacted by his counsel. He, like his wife Betty, will surely be missed by my wife and me. "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Phil. 1:21) was modeled by his life as a faithful servant of Christ Jesus. There is now an empty spot in my circle that I count as close and dear friends. As John would say, "By grace--". I am so very sorry. Your Dad/Grandpa touched so many lives, and I am eternally grateful for the gift of knowing him. He counseled my late husband Jeff and I…Jeff just loved his insights and laughter! And he also counseled my son Jeffrey, after Jeff’s fatal car accident. What an amazing man! Thank you for sharing him (and your mom) with the world. He made a difference in many lives. His legacy lives on in all of you. God bless you and bring you peace and comfort.

I, for over fifty years, remember John and his sincere and contagious laugh and smile. He had great eye contact and cared about my ideas as we talked. I also remember his wife Betty: What a great couple they were. Thanks John for the memories from Piedmont Bible College.

It was such a pleasure growing up as a child through my early 20's with John J. Iamaio as our Pastor and sunday school teacher at Calvary Baptist Church in Hummels wharf, Pa. He was very hands on, going with us to bible camp, playing softball at annual church picnics as well as fishing at a church members pond, and even going sledding on the local country clubs hills. Him and Betty will be missed by many, but both of them definitely fulfilled their missions here on earth. And now they can enjoy eternity together again.

John cared about his students at WCS so much. He always loved to rile us up into deep thinking and healthy debate over issues regarding our faith and end times.
I loved when he told us to sit under a tree and drink lemonade and think about things. He taught us that there isn’t just an “answer” for everything, but that we have to think for ourselves and read the Bible to find the answers, not just blindly listen to a teacher’s answer (regarding faith). He taught me never to settle for a man that didn’t love Jesus with all his heart and he would always pull me and Kimmy aside and just ask us about our lives. He cared. He loved, and he played. Haha! I remember him wrestling with Jason Flesch during Bible class. He loved to wrestle physically and spiritually over topics. It’s important to wrestle with God on thoughts. Anyway, I remember his joy the most. He was always filled with joy. He loved everyone with everything in him because he was so filled with the love of God.
Never will I forget his legacy.

So sorry the Lord chose to take John home so quickly after Betty. I know John was very lonely but worked hard at staying close to the Lord. We spent many hours working out aspects of the nature and character of God and loved every minute of it.!
We also had many hours tromping through the woods hunting for deer. He is my best friend and I look forward spending eternity with him in the presence of the Lord.

I knew of John through his daughter and our women's Sunday school class leader. Several month back John started to attend our church on a regular bases, so we started to chat and after a while friends. I would tell him how special we all thought of Stephanie , well he wanted to come to our class, a plan was hatched. It had to be convincing and fool his daughter. We had everything thought throughBUT one thing stopped the plan . John refused to learn to walk in women's shoes. I mean really , was that asking to much.
When I would see him it was our inside joke. I will miss him but I will always have "our plan".
Rest always in the arms of Jesus.

Jim and I will always be grateful for the time God blessed us with John serving as interim pastor at Spencerport Bible Church in 1996-97. He taught the Psalms to us in such a vibrant, illuminating way. Our children were teenagers at the time and John baptized them into the faith of following Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He definitely related on their level and he declared convincingly to us that he loved jumping in the leaves as much as they did. I will always remember him saying, “go sit under a tree and ponder God.” We can hardly wait to see him again. With love to Stephanie, John jr, and your family, Alice Read
