“Chuck”

Victor:  Entered eternal rest on Friday, August 24, 2018.  Chuck is survived by Marlene, his loving wife of 60 years; children, Charles G. (Maria), Fairport, NY, and Susan L. White-Herchek (Thomas), Blue Bell, PA; grandchildren, Jennifer and Christa Herchek and Clark White; brother, Eugene (Delores) White of Bethlehem, PA; numerous nieces and nephews; and several beloved cousins.

     Chuck will be remembered for his work with the Rochester City School District for 31 years and his position as Vice-Principal of James Madison and Charlotte High Schools.  He more recently held membership positions in the Victor United Methodist Church; Webster Masonic Lodge #538 (Master in 1969); Wayne Masonic Lodge #416 (Master in 1995); Lalla Rookh Grotto; Damascus Shrine; Lake County, FL, Shrine Club; Retired Teachers Organization (Life Member); Webster Historical Society (Life Member); Sons of the American Revolution, both Rochester, NY and Lake-Sumter, FL chapters; Hawthorne (Leesburg, FL) High 12 Masonic Club; Ohio Genealogical Society; Masonic War Veterans; and Rochester Consistory.  He also worked part-time at Wesley-on-East Nursing Facility.  He served in the US Army.

     Charles and the immediate family enjoyed 12 years of traveling in their single axle trailer. They traveled to all 48 continental USA states and most of Canada’s provinces.  He enjoyed gardening in FL, Pinochle (north and south), Pitch/Putt and bocce at Hawthorne, attending farm auctions, and in his basement wood shop the making of sand boxes, wagons, puppet stages, doll beds, flower boxes, radiators covers, and book shelves, for the children and grandchildren.  More recently he restored several electric water pumps.

     He also held former memberships in Phi Delta Kapa (Educational Fraternity), Rochester Teachers Association, National Educational Association, National Association of Secondary Schools Principals, Early American Glass Society, Fry Glass Society, American Majolica Society, and Bahia Shrine (FL).

     Friends may call 2-5 PM Saturday, Sept. 1st at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster, where a Masonic Service will be offered at 5:00 PM.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Charles’ memory to the Victor United Methodist Church, 106 West Main Street, Victor, NY 14564, Children’s Memorial Scholarship Fund, 131 W.
