Obituary of John Francis Dewey

Webster: Saturday, July 29, 2017, age 89. Predeceased by his wife, Jeanne; sister, Mary and brother, Robert. He leaves his children, Peter (Pamela) Dewey, Mary Patricia Dewey, Karen (James) Guy, Steven (Penny Helfrich) Dewey; grandchildren, Kyle, Derek (Jen), Meg (Drew Ader) and Alex John "AJ" Dewey, Timothy John Buckingham Dewey, Kevin and Brian Guy, Sean and Mckenna Dewey; twin brother, James; sister, Martha Ashbaugh; several nieces & nephews. In 1962 Jack was employed with the Times Union and Democrat and Chronicle newspapers before his retirement in 1990 after 28 years of service. He and his wife, Jeanne were longtime residents of Webster and were parishioners of St. Rita's Church. Jack's family would like to thank the 8th floor staff at St. Ann's Home for their dedication, compassion and friendship. Friends may call 4-7 PM Tuesday August 1st at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 AM Wednesday August 2nd at St. Ann's Home Chapel, 1500 Portland Ave. Rochester. Interment at West Webster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Ann's Foundation or Alzheimer's Association.
